The PSOE in Torrox has presented their 2011 Budget, amounting to 19,549,818.85 euros and a reduction of almost 14%. The socialist government team argues that these accounts are fundamental to ensuring the economic stability of the Council. In principle, the budget could be approved on Monday with the support of the two PIU and PSA councillors.

You have to laugh. A number of residents in Torrox Costa have complained about the municipal webcam located on the roof of the Tourist Office.
Designed to show a little bit of Torrox Costa as well as acting as a sort of traffic cam to keep an eye on possible congestion, it also covers the entrance to one of the local ‘alternative clubs’. Although it does not show the licence plates of vehicles, it does show those frequenting the establishment and some regulars do not like that idea.
One of the four people injured on Sunday in an accident on the A-7207 in Torrox has died in hospital.
The deceased was 23 years old. A 50 year old woman remains in the Hospital Comarcal and a 24 year old is said to be making good progress at the Carlos Haya hospital in Málaga.
The fourth accident, a 50 year old man, has been discharged from hospital. He suffered frontal trauma and neck injuries.
Torrox City Council has launched a campaign to promote the care of unused plots of land and empty buildings which have a negative impact on the the image of the municipality and, in some cases, cause problems for local residents.
An accident on the A-7207 in Torrox involving two vehicles resulted in four people being injured, one of them seriously.
The accident occurred at around 02:30 and left one of the occupants trapped in his vehicle. Firemen had to cut him free. All four injured were taken to the Hospital Comarcal in Vélez-Málaga.

The Criminal Court Number 6 in Málaga has ordered Torrox Council to demolish a house built on undeveloped land after the owner, who built the home legally, failed to carry out the demolition himself.
Torrox Council has opened an investigation into a mobile phone antenna installed in the area known as Generación del 27 after complaints by local residents linking the antenna to health problems being experienced in the area. The Council is also looking into developing a municipal ordinance covering antennae.
